Menstruation Health Week
May 24 - 30, 2026
In past years, we’ve recognized Menstrual Health Week and Menstrual Hygiene Day (May 28) through educational programs and community outreach. We look forward to continuing these efforts and offering similar opportunities for awareness and engagement this year.

Beltrami County Historical Society and Bemidji Public Library invite you to
Join us for Menstruation Health Week, a community-powered campaign to break the silence, fight stigma, and advance period dignity for all.
Through story-sharing, education, and action, we're creating a more informed and compassionate future, together.
🩸 Why It Matters:
In Minnesota, period poverty remains a persistent and often overlooked crisis. About 1 in 9 menstruating individuals of reproductive age live below the poverty line, and countless others are forced to choose between food and menstrual products. Moreover, this week is about women’s health, advocacy, and simply being unafraid to discuss something that affects half the population.
📚 What We’re Doing:
This week is packed with powerful programs — from author talks and research panels to product drives and community dialogues. Together with our partners, we’re tackling menstrual inequity head-on, highlighting real stories and real solutions.
🤝 How You Can Help:
-
Attend a Menstruation Health Week event
-
Bring period products to a donation site near you
-
Read and share the personal stories of menstrual inequity
-
Advocate for full funding and broader access, because period products are not luxury items.
Let’s build a Minnesota where no one is held back, shamed, or left behind because of their period.
