Art is HERstory: Micro-Mosaics Workshop with Kathy Sanders

About the Workshop:

The Beltrami County Historical Society invites the community to discover the intricate art of micro-mosaics in a hands-on workshop led by artist Kathy Sanders. The class, part of the Art is HERStory series, will take place Saturday, April 26, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the North Beltrami Community Center, 220 Main St. E., Kelliher.

Micro-mosaics are a specialized form of mosaic art that uses tiny pieces of glass (tesserae) to create detailed images, following a traditional Italian technique. In this workshop, participants will use Sanders’ hand-crafted glass tesserae to design and complete a unique pendant featuring a floral or abstract design.

All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary. Space is limited to ten participants, and pre-registration is required.
