The Beltrami County History Center, home of the BCHS, is located in historic downtown Bemidji, Minnesota, in the restored 1912 Great Northern Depot. The history center and museum feature the Trails Through Time exhibit, a BSU Centennial exhibit, a research library & archives, and a gift shop.
Fellowship Overview: This Fellowship introduces a student to the basic operations of a small history museum. Duties may include processing and cataloging museum collections, interacting with the public, and assisting with research requests.
The Fellowship will cover salary ($10-$12/hour) for 10-12 weeks during the summer of 2020, approximately 15-20 hours per week. Fellows should be available during normal operating hours of the Beltrami County History Center (Wednesday through Saturday, 12:00-4:00 P.M.), but flexibility is a plus. Occasional mornings and evenings may be required to assist with special events. Participants will also engage in an independent project to be presented to funders and board members at the conclusion of the fellowship.
Level of Responsibility: Reports to Executive Director
- Undergraduate or graduate student preferred with interest and/or experience in history, library science, museum studies, exhibit design, marketing, or other applicable fields
